Providence Health System in Alaska offers a variety of education programs that share a common goal; to provide education and resources to support healthy lifestyles and management of chronic illness. From heart disease patients learning to regain their former level of activity to lung disease patients learning that they can be active and participate in life – our education programs offer targeted learning, a helpful caring staff, and a commitment to you and your family.
Most of our programs require a physician referral in order for you to participate. We can help you by faxing a referral order directly to your health care provider’s office. This is an important step for all of us; if you are interested in entering one of our programs you are inviting us to become part of your healthcare team. Our programs are not meant to replace the care you are already receiving; instead, we want to assist your health care provider in their care of you, meanwhile providing the information you need to successfully manage your health and maintaining communication with your health care provider.
Our education programs address all of the important issues in your life; preventing disease, managing a chronic illness, and returning to health after illness.
