Nursing Internships at Providence
In pursuit of excellent patient care, Providence Health System in Alaska (PHSA) has developed specialized Nursing Internship programs for new graduate nurses. Beginning with the Children’s Hospital at Providence in 1998, our program has been expanded to include Adult Critical Care, Progressive Care, and Acute Medical Surgical Care. With both classroom and practical content, these programs are structured to meet the needs of the graduate nurse. Each participant will be provided with the essentials of orientation while being supported individually by a preceptor.
Nursing Fellowships
Continuing with our pursuit of nursing excellence and with an interest in career development, Providence is proud to offer Nursing Fellowships. These programs have been created using the highest standards in the profession. Through didactic, practicum, and preceptored clinical experiences the nurse with experience is able to transition into new areas of nursing.
Commitment
Nurses accepted into career development programs will be employees of Providence Health System Alaska. Upon successful program completion, the nurse will be expected to commit to full-time employment with Providence for a period specified by the individual program.
