Specially trained and licensed social workers will assist patients and their families in navigating the journey through cancer, including streamlined admissions, financial and emotional counseling, housing and logistical services, and cancer education. A state-of-the-art Cancer Resource Center will house these staff and services, a library and multimedia cancer resources. |

State-of-the-Art Technology and Expertise |

The new cancer center will house leading cancer-fighting technology all in one place, including a high-dose radiation machine, a new CT/Simulator, and a revolutionary new treatment system of radiation therapy called tomotherapy. A brand-new infusion center will provide the latest in infusion treatment support equipment, in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. |

The center will be staffed by leading medical and surgical oncologists, and specially trained oncology nurses. |

A board-certified genetic counselor will also be available to assist patients in understanding the benefits and limitations of cancer gene testing. |

For more than a decade, Providence has provided patients access to prevention and treatment trials approved by the National Cancer Institute. |

Our tumor registry collects data and provides it to the state of Alaska and the National Cancer Institute in an effort to advance cancer research and care worldwide. |
