Building the New Cancer Center
We are all--every one of us--affected by cancer. And all at risk. Half of all men and one-third of all women in the U.S. will develop cancer in their lifetimes. In Alaska, cancer has replaced cardiac disease as the leading cause of death. This is a fight we’re all in together.
But there is hope. New treatments and technology continue to improve cancer care dramatically. Today, more people with cancer are living healthier and longer lives when provided good quality care.
Providence Alaska Medical Center is committed to bringing that care to all Alaskans—as close to home as possible. Drawing on the best practices from leading cancer institutions worldwide, we’re building a comprehensive new cancer center right here in Alaska.
