Senior Connection is a health promotion program for seniors 55 and over brought to you by Providence Health System in Alaska. Senior Connection's focus is to provide you with the best information we can find on wellness, health maintenance and prevention - information about keeping fit, positive and productive.
Health Education
As a Senior Connection member, you receive Senior Connection Health Report, a fun and informative bi-monthly newsletter. From time to time, we'll send you announcements about local senior health events, such as health fairs and forums.
Health Screenings
Illness and unstable health often can be prevented by early detection. Through Senior Connection, you'll learn about a variety of reduced-price screenings such as blood pressure monitoring, mammograms and prostate cancer screenings.
Insurance and Billing Counseling
Senior Connection members are invited to take advantage of our "Shoe Box Lady," an experienced insurance worker who will help you sort out your shoe box full of insurance and health care bills. We'll also help you find answers to your questions about Medicare coverage and Medicaid eligibility.

Senior Connection membership gives you a number of other benefits, including discounts at gift shops at Providence Alaska Medical Center and Providence Extended Care Center; discounts on cafeteria meals at Providence, free copying of medical and personal papers, free notary services (by appointment) and free nutrition screening (by appointment).
