Wound care • Ulcers: pressure, venous stasis, neuropathic, diabetic, arterial • Wound dehiscence, including wound VAC • Traumatic wounds such as skin tears and lacerations healing by secondary intention • Comprehensive assessment of wound etiology
Ostomy care • Colostomy, ileostomy and ileal conduits for urinary diversion • Pre- and post- op counseling and follow-up • Fitting with appropriate pouching appliances • Coordination of on-going supply needs • Skin problems associated with ostomies
| | Barbara Roark, R.N., B.S.N., C.W.O.C.N. Our certified wound care specialist Barbara Roark, R.N., B.S.N., C.W.O.C.N., earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Arizona State University and completed her wound, ostomy and continence education through Emory University and is fully certifi ed in wound, ostomy and continence care.
Barbara has more than 32 years of nursing experience and spent the last 13 years in home health with an extensive amount of time spent in the management of ostomies, acute and chronic wounds. |
