Volunteering with Providence Newberg Medical Center

Join the many volunteers at Providence Newberg Medical Center and make a caring difference in someone’s life. Your special talents will be matched with a service that best meets your area of interest.

PNMC volunteers serve in 23 different areas of the hospital and contributed a total of 9,582 volunteer hours in 2004. Some of the departments supported are Access Services, Emergency, Birth Center, Surgery, Med/Surg, Marketing, Home Health, Foundation, Lifeline and the Gift Shop to name just a few. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks such as delivering flowers, escorting families to a patient’s room, offering free magazines from the activity cart, holding the hand of a frightened patient, delivering meal trays to patients, making packets, wheeling discharged patients to the front of the hospital and much, much more.

Volunteers typically work a 3 or 4-hour shift, one day a week. Special volunteer programs include our “Hospital Auxiliary” and our after school “High School program”. We strive to continually create new volunteer opportunities with the growth of our community and hospital.
