Message from the Chief Executive
After years of planning and months of construction, Oregon’s newest medical center is now open.
Our new hospital is one of the most technologically advanced in the country and one of the most inviting, too. We accomplished our goal of creating a calm, welcoming environment for patients and visitors through the use of natural light and open spaces. What’s more, our new home is a healthy. It is the only hospital in the country that meets 100 percent of its electrical needs without releasing any pollutants into the air, which is the equivalent of taking 273 vehicles off the road.
While watching buildings grow is exciting, to see and feel the community support behind the project is amazing. More than 3500 people attended our open house on June 10, 2006, the "Time is Now" campaign exceeded our $5.2 million in fundraising to build the new medical center, and more than 400 school children from Newberg, Dundee, Sherwood and St. Paul created the 112 pieces of healing artwork throughout the building.
I’m excited as I look to the future of health care in the communities we serve. The combination of our talented physicians, nurses, dedicated employees and volunteers will ensure continued growth and expanded services for years to come. Thanks to all who have contributed to our success. Because of you, we can embrace the future and continue to bring excellence and compassionate care to all we serve.
Sincerely,
Larry S. Bowe, Chief Executive
