In her medical practice, Dr. Gerhard stresses the importance of preventative health care with patients. “The most important role I play is to serve as an educator and provide patients with the tools they need to promote a healthy lifestyle,” she says.
Dr. Gerhard received her undergraduate degree in Spanish at Washington University in St. Louis, Miss., and received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Gerhard decided to become a physician because of the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, volunteering and spending time with her husband and three young sons. She is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Gerhard welcomes Spanish speaking patients.
